About the Role
The Fitness Instructor welcomes members to the Health & Fitness Centre, conducts fitness inductions and provides guidance and feedback in the instruction of exercise techniques ensuring safe and high quality customer experiences.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Supervising the gym floor including instruction to users on correct exercise techniques and equipment use.
- Carrying out general administrative responsibilities in the Fitness Centre, including member retention calls.
- Providing high quality customer service through the induction, development and delivery of individual fitness programs for Fitness Centre members including:
- undertaking fitness inductions, assessing medical history and contraindications
- developing appropriate exercise programs
- conducting initial workouts of program
- following up for subsequent workouts and appraisals
- Undertaking cleaning of equipment duties
- Opening and/or closing Fitness Centre
This permanent part time opportunity offers 44 hours per four week period, working Monday – Saturday, with some flexibility and option for picking up extra shifts.
The Fitness Centre is open between 5.30 am and 9.00 pm Monday through Thursday, with shorter opening hours Friday to Sunday. Whilst the position will be based at Arena Joondalup, mobility may be required between the portfolio of facilities.

About the Person
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate relevant experience in a fitness centre, including conducting inductions, designing training programs and providing guidance and feedback to patrons.
In addition, you will be passionate about the health and fitness industry and have a desire to motivate and improve the wellbeing of our patrons.

Employment Screening

- Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30315)
- Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or equivalent) and Provide CPR (HLTAID001 or equivalent)
- Western Australian Working with Children Check; or capacity to obtain within 1 month of commencement
