Mullewa District High School (DHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Mullewa is located only 99 kilometres east-northeast of Geraldton where there is ample shopping, restaurants, beaches, and other social opportunities. The Role
As a primary teacher, suitable applicants will ideally possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, safe and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. You will ideally have the ability to develop positive relationships with students and their families, implement the WA Curriculum to address the learning areas of upper primary students in all learning area subjects. Quality Teaching is a priority and knowledge of high impact instruction is beneficial. We seek teachers who have strong classroom management skills to engage students successfully.

An understanding of trauma informed practices, knowledge of behaviour management strategies including knowledge of Positive Behaviour Supports is also desireable. Knowledge of developing documented plans for education, social emotion and attendance will also be highly regarded.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Mullewa District High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $8500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
