Mullewa District High School (MDHS) is seeking a passionate, highly motivated, collaborative and innovative Deputy Principal to provide educational leadership across the school with a focus on student engagement and secondary pathways.
Mullewa is located only 99 kilometres east-northeast of Geraldton where there is ample shopping, restaurants, beaches and other social opportunities. Mullewa is a diverse and resilient community, rich in both natural and cultural heritage. The Role
The successful applicant will have a deep belief that every student is capable of achieving success and be able to provide educational leadership to a team that ensures students are engaged and become successful learners. Specifically, you will ideally demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with students, parents and staff, and the ability to develop and maintain positive and effective partnerships with external agencies, and members of the community. You will be responsible for supporting Teachers and students with a positive behaviour approach, engaging students with clear pathways. The successful applicant will continually drive improvement by providing proactive leadership that is collaborative, inspiring and supportive. Leading by example, you will model high aspirations and expectations of all staff and students.
Our focus is to create a safe and calm environment, and you will need to have excellent knowledge and able to support staff with implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and CMS approaches as well as the capacity to work with complex case management.
There is an additional focus on establishing a clear pathway of individual student aspiration through all years of compulsory secondary schooling (Years 7 to 12) through a case management, culturally responsive, wrap-around support model to assist each student to achieve to their potential.
Additionally, we are looking for someone who has a sound knowledge of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework and understands the need to be culturally responsive.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Mullewa District High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $8500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
