Mullewa District High School (DHS) is seeking an enthusiastic Education Assistant – Mainstream to join our friendly and supportive team.
Mullewa is located only 99 kilometres east-northeast of Geraldton. Mullewa is a diverse and resilient community, rich in both natural and cultural heritage. Mullewa has a swimming pool, Recreation Centre with a small gym, doctors’ surgery, hospital, two service stations - one with a mechanic, a food shop and three art galleries. The Role
The successful applicant will help support our teachers to improve educational outcomes for our students, working with small groups of students to improve reading, spelling and mathematic skills. You will be required to support teachers with social emotional programs such as Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Zones of Regulation.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be involved with the MultiLit program, receiving professional learning and additional in school support, while striving to improve educational and life skills of our students (majority are Aboriginal). The successful applicant will be working within a supportive school staff.
The ability to work with all staff members collaboratively is highly desirable. We are seeking applicants that have a love of learning and improve students’ lives and communicate well with students and their families. Ideally, applicants will be organised, reliable and caring.
The school has a strong focus on PBS catering for students’ wellbeing. We also have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy with an innovative intervention strategy for students in Kindergarten to Year 9. The school is creating purposeful programs to provide clear career pathways for our secondary students.
