Mullewa District High School (DHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Education Assistant – Special Needs to join their friendly team.
Mullewa is located only 99 kilometres east-northeast of Geraldton. Mullewa is a diverse and resilient community, rich in both natural and cultural heritage. The Role
The successful applicant will be required to assist in the delivery of planned education programs and the implementation of specialised, individual education programs.
In this role the successful applicant will apply techniques, skills and knowledge relevant to the principles and practices acquired through previous experience that will help assist students with a range of disabilities including Physical Disability, Intellectual Disability, Diabetes, Autism and Severe Mental Conditions. The successful applicant will ideally have Certificate in Special Needs while possessing excellent levels of literacy and numeracy. You will also possess exceptional teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills to provide support to parents, teachers and professionals.
Our outstanding team of teachers, Aboriginal education workers and experienced education assistants provide engaging classes and programs for our students from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
The school has a strong focus on positive behaviour supports catering for students wellbeing. We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy using MultiLit and CAMS & STAMS programs. The school is creating purposeful programs to provide clear career pathways for our secondary students.

- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
