The Department of Education has a long history of providing education to international students. We have welcomed students from around the world into our schools since the early 1980s.
As a key priority of the State Government, we are committed to supporting the development of the international education sector in Western Australia. Our schools form a key part of the sector, providing education to international students at the beginning of their educational journey. As the starting point, our schools provide an effective and accessible pathway for students to begin their journey in education and then move with confidence into vocational or higher education or any other chosen pathway.
The Department’s International Education branch coordinates the provision of international education in Western Australian public schools. The branch is responsible for the Department’s International Education Program, which involves the implementation of a range of initiatives focused on supporting the growth of international education in public schools.
The Role
In this role, you will support the implementation of key initiatives and strategies of the Department’s International Education Program. You will work closely with stakeholders to establish and strengthen partnerships in key offshore markets, engaging in high-level liaison and maintaining robust networks to promote the Department’s international education objectives.
This role also involves conducting research to assess trends in international education, performing data analysis to drive improvements, and developing risk management strategies to address emerging challenges.
You will contribute to the design, development and facilitation of professional learning programs and resources for schools.
A key aspect of the role involves the preparation of reports, policy, briefing notes, correspondence and Ministerial communication.
