Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for Year 7-12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The College is recognised as a school of choice with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and commitment to excellence. Teaching and learning is a focus with Explicit Direct Instruction, the signature pedagogy, supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems to support conditions for learning in the classroom. The Role
The successful applicant should be highly effective in engaging and motivating students and creating an effective learning environment. The successful applicant will ideally have the following attributes:
- Interpersonal skills and capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Capacity to build good relationships with all students
- Commitment to our signature pedagogy of Explicit Direct Instruction
- Knowledge of Digital Technology Curriculum. Experience delivering senior school courses such as AIT or Computer Science is desirable but not necessary.
Cert IV or experience teaching certification qualification is desirable.
- Experience in new technologies such as drones, robotics, 3D printing, virtual reality and or delivering STEM projects, supporting 21 century learning.
- Strong teaching and classroom management skills including Classroom Management Strategies
- Engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, student feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data.
