The Finance Services Branch provides accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintenance of the Department’s asset registers, credit card management, lease administration, debt recovery, general ledger and taxation services.
The Role
As an Accounts Processing Coordinator, you will lead a dedicated team to ensure the seamless delivery of financial accounting and reporting services across the Department. Your responsibilities will encompass accounts payable and receivable, purchase card administration, debt recovery, vendor maintenance, and supporting the Teachers Registration Board. You will provide expert advice, maintain compliance with legislation and policies, and oversee the development and control of financial management system modules. With a focus on excellence, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, prepare accurate financial reports, and coordinate responses for internal and external audits.
In this leadership role, you will foster a collaborative and professional work environment, supporting your team’s performance and development. You will maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, contributing to the integration of financial accounting services across workstreams. By upholding best practices in accounts processing, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, you will play an essential part in achieving the Department's strategic and operational objectives.

Eligibility

- possess a relevant Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, commerce or business or equivalent substantial experience

Job Specific Criteria
- Demonstrated well developed knowledge and experience in the application of legislation, including Goods and Services Tax, Financial Management Act 2006, Treasurers Instructions, government accounting policies and procedures and the Australian Accounting Standards.
- Demonstrated well developed knowledge and understanding of accounts processing functions within a computerised financial accounting systems and proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and databases.

- Demonstrated ability to think strategically by evaluating information to draw accurate conclusions and make evidence-based recommendations whilst engaging others in change processes and providing clear guidance and coaching.
