Wiluna Remote Community School (RCS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Secondary Generalist for fixed term, full-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Wiluna RCS caters for Kindergarten to Year 12 students and has a population of between 60 and 80 students. Our school staff are committed to connecting learning to the Martu Calendar, our local curriculum. The Calendar was created by local families over the last few years and ensures that learning is connected to country and culture.
Our diverse high school features teacher led projects in a Year 7/8 and 9/10 class set up. Our students are abundant with opportunities. We work with local stakeholders to offer innovative curriculum that Is tailored to the future pathways of the area.
Most students come from the town and the largest community at Bondini about 6 km east. Wiluna also attracts students from the Kutkabubba Community, 36 km north. A school bus provides transport to and from school for these students.

The Role
As a teacher at our school, you should work collaboratively with others to help create and maintain an engaging and stimulating learning environment for students to enjoy and will be able to help inspire them to develop a passion for learning.
Suitable applicants will ideally be able to create an effective, engaging, and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. Suitable applicants should be positive and flexible. You should have an understanding of appropriate assessments and be able to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class aligned strongly to the Western Australian Curriculum and the attainment of a Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Knowledge of High School curriculum, OLNA, ATAR are also highly regarded for this role. Applicants should have the ability to maintain ICT due to a cohort of students doing SIDE. Applicants with Hospitality, Trade and/or VET skills would be highly considered.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Wiluna Remote Community School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
