The Role
As a Program Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with the Principal and members of the administrative team to provide educational leadership within the school and the community. You will develop and promote the school's vision for academic success and encourage school staff, volunteers, and community members to share ownership of the school's vision and goals.
Using your effective change strategies, you will lead the school community to accept and develop opportunities for improved service in Student Services. You will facilitate workforce effectiveness and provide a role model for self-development to improve professional performance. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the school plan through participative decision-making, including developing policy and establishing and maintaining systems.
As the Program Coordinator, you will manage programs, specific curriculum areas, and general school administration, including the management of school timetable processes. As the Manager of Operations, you will oversee key operational functions, including timetable creation and maintenance, staffing, standardised testing, and exam scheduling, reporting to parents, staff rosters, and information databases. Your innovative leadership will support access to a range of educational pathways designed to best meet the diverse needs of our student. You will also undertake administrative duties related to the accountable department and liaise extensively with the Principal, Deputy Principals, Heads of Department/Learning Area, and relevant specialist staff.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Newman Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $8 500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
