The Role
Baldivis Secondary College is seeking to appoint a part-time school psychologist to support the mental health, wellbeing, and academic success of students and staff. In addition to traditional school psychology duties, this role involves leading the school's staff and student wellbeing initiatives, promoting a culture of care, resilience, and positive relationships throughout the school community.
The successful applicant will be a team player with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to think and act strategically and with integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Wellbeing Leadership:
- Design, implement, and evaluate the Staff and Student Wellbeing Framework.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to embed wellbeing practices into the school’s strategic plan.
- Facilitate professional learning for staff on topics such as resilience, trauma-informed practices, and stress management.
Staff Wellbeing Initiatives:
- Develop and deliver programs that support staff mental health and psychological safety.
- Coordinate wellbeing resources and tools for staff use.
- Lead wellbeing surveys and feedback mechanisms to drive continuous improvement.
Student Wellbeing Initiatives:
- Implement school-wide programs focused on mindfulness, resilience, and social-emotional learning.
- Partner with Student Services to support students at risk.
- Promote inclusive practices for all students.

- Demonstrated ability to implement psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation
