Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and forms part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, and presently has Year 7 and 8 cohorts. Each year the school adds to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.

The Role
Piara Waters SHS is seeking to appoint a Youth Engagement and Support Worker to our foundation school. The Youth Engagement Worker’s focus is on student wellbeing they will be responsible for improving the wellbeing, resilience, and pro-social behaviours of students across the Piara Waters SHS site. Working in collaboration with the Student Wellbeing team, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing positive support strategies that foster student engagement - inside and outside the classroom.
A key aspect of this role is developing and maintaining strong relationships with students – increasing regular attendance and promoting positive mental/physical health to enhance student learning outcomes. The successful applicant should have the skills and experience necessary to implement appropriate engagement and intervention strategies for students requiring support.
The successful applicant should enhance student learning outcomes by identifying and establishing support networks for students with staff, the school community and, under direction, local community agencies. The role will also involve appropriate data entry, report writing, participation in case conferences as well as management of student case notes.
