The Role
Teachers in the Hedland SHS Design and Technology team are focused on creating outstanding outcomes for students and empowering every learner. We are a collaborative, supportive and close-knit team in a way that only a high-quality regional school can be. Our practice is data-driven to ensure improvement for our students.
We aim to empower young people from diverse backgrounds so all students can be successful. Collaborative practice is a key asset to our team’s success, and the applicant would need to be willing to learn from and share their experience with other members of the team. The successful applicant will strive for excellence in the lower secondary Digital Technologies teaching area, and the senior secondary Design teaching area. Knowledge and experience working in other teaching areas would also be beneficial, but not essential.
As a school we are committed to providing cutting edge professional learning for our staff, through a variety of opportunities both at school and through travel to other regional locations and the city. We have highly developed partnerships with schools across the state to create programs that provide students with the greatest opportunities academically. Additionally, we support our students to become confident leaders and engaged members of our local community. The strength of diversity in language and culture at our school is unmatched and will offer new experiences to teachers at all levels, both primary and secondary trained.
