The Role
Bambara PS is seeking to appoint a dedicated and reliable cleaner who has an eye for attention to detail, takes pride in their work, is highly organised and able to work well both as a team and independently. You should also be honest, reliable and punctual. Your role as cleaner is essential in creating and maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for our students, staff, parents and school community.
The cleaner, under the general supervision of the cleaner in charge, is responsible for a range of internal and external cleaning duties. This includes maintaining carpets and hard floor surfaces, cleaning toilets, furniture and fittings, internal door handles and surrounds, dusting and rubbish removal.
In addition to this, the cleaner is responsible for carrying out external cleaning duties including blowing down verandas, cleaning drinking troughs, external door handles and surrounds, cobweb removal and other general cleaning duties as requested by the cleaner in charge.
Vacation cleaning duties include cleaning windows, buffing new vinyl floors, shampooing mats and carpets and pressure cleaning.
The cleaner is also responsible for reporting faults, maintenance issues, and incidents to the cleaner in charge while ensuring that schools are cleaned and maintained in compliance with Department and occupational safety standards.
