The Role
We are seeking a motivated applicant with a passion for teaching Design and Technology at the secondary level, possessing a solid understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. In your role as a Design and Technology Teacher, you will deliver a curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of all students, fostering an environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning plans. Teachers and School Administrators employed at Katanning Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3,500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
