Quality Teaching are seeking to establish a pool of Education Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise in the Graduate Teacher Induction Program during the 2025 year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Teaching Quality and Innovation (TQI) Directorate includes two branches that inform and contribute to system, State and Commonwealth initiatives, being:
- Quality Teaching
- Curriculum Priorities
The Quality Teaching Branch develops the strategies and resources to inform, build and strengthen effective teaching practices across the public school system, and includes the Graduate Teacher Induction Program.
We are seeking passionate and innovative educators to become part of the Graduate Teacher Induction Program.
The Role
The Education Officer role demands exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to cultivate strong partnerships both within and outside the Department. A deep understanding of effective teaching and learning practices, along with experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating professional learning, is essential. Experience in coaching is highly desirable.
Essential to the Education Officer role is a belief in and commitment to cultural responsiveness and support for early career teachers to create culturally safe and engaging learning environments for all students.
A key aspect of this role is enhancing the self-efficacy of early career teachers by guiding them through reflective practice as they transition from university to classroom practice. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of quality teaching across Western Australia, by helping graduate teachers develop and sustain high impact practices that drive student progress and achievement.

Eligibility

- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
