This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing February 2025 up until January 2026.
The Kimberley Schools Project (the Project) is a collaborative partnership between the Department of Education, Catholic Education Western Australia, the Association of Independent Schools Western Australia, the Department of Regional Development and Primary Industries. The Project is designed to accelerate and intensify existing strategies to address low education outcomes in the Kimberley and underpins broader economic and social development in the region.
The Role
The Attendance and Community Engagement Officer provide strategic advice to schools on developing and sustaining community engagement procedures to enhance positive community–school relationships. They support and lead the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs.
If successful, you will provide cultural awareness and support to principals, school staff who conduct home visits and the project team. You will be required to provide advice and support to school based attendance officers (SBAO), Aboriginal and Islander education officers regarding home visits, policies and procedures within a school-based context.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- obtain or hold a current C class licence
- obtain or hold an accredited 4WD qualification
- undertake extended overnight travel throughout the Kimberley Education Region, including travel to remote school sites
