We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. We will be offering two (2) permanent part-time positions to commence at the start of 2025. Other appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period of the pool.

The Role
Suitable applicants will be working within the Specialist Learning Program – Autism Spectrum Disorder (SLP-ASD) and/or in the mainstream setting supporting students with varied needs to achieve their goals. Given the prominence of the SLP-ASD within the school, Eucation Assistants at Warwick SHS will apply evidence-based strategies to implement individual learning plans in a highly individualised environment. You will ideally be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, families and external providers within the community. Suitable applicants should demonstrate a proven ability to collaborate with and support classroom teachers to maximise academic, social-emotional and behavioural successes with a focus on developing the ‘Whole Child’ based on their individual needs.

- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
