The Role
Madeley PS is seeking a dedicated, creative and enthusiastic Library Officer to join their team.
As the successful applicant you will ideally be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to promote excellence within our school including in the application of customer service principles and practices. The successful applicant should have the ability to instil the love of reading in children. The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills and display the ability to work in a highly collaborative manner.
Madeley PS sees the library as the centre of the school and the hub for our students, staff and community members. The successful applicant should supervise the day-today operation of the library and provision of reference, information and associated services to staff and students. They should administer library systems, ensure library records are up-to-date as well as whole school resources lists are maintained and processed efficiently so they are accessible and available. They should assist students, staff and parents to select program and age-appropriate materials.
The successful applicant should be responsible for preparing and monitoring the library budget and make recommendations for new library resources. Experience in using Oliver, version 5 would be desirable along-with the ability to provide administrative support, organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
