Coastal Lakes College (CLC) located in Lakelands, a south-western suburb of Perth in the City of Mandurah, opened in 2019 and caters for students across Year 7 - 12. We are a fast growing and innovative college which also includes an Inclusive Education hub for students with moderate to severe and profound disabilities. The successful applicant for this position should be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments. You should possess the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Science curriculum. Experience in teaching senior school Science courses, particularly General Science in Practice and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Physics, is highly desirable.
As an expert practitioner you should have commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and differentiate educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs. You should model highly effective teaching, learning and assessment principles such as explicit instruction, reciprocal teaching (formative assessment) and feed forward. The College has an imbedded culture of professional growth and development, supported by Instructional Coaching.
The College has a strong Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEAM) focus, working in a collaborative partnership with local primary schools, industry and tertiary education. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to develop innovative classroom practices utilising the College’s cutting edge Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and embedded 21st Century Skills within their teaching and learning.
