The Role
As a member of our collaborative team, you will ideally be a caring, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will utilise your interpersonal acumen to access a range of supports and services for your students, collaborate with parents and coordinate this to align to the individual educational programs you deliver.
As an Education Support Teacher you will deliver a differentiated curriculum which meets the needs of each student and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential. You should be a teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning.
You will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You should build positive relationships with students and their families and be passionate about creating positive futures for students regardless of their abilities. You should support major school directions and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives including our High Impact Teaching, Zones of Regulation and Positive Behaviour Support.
As part of the new 2025 mobility trials to support staffing in regional schools, metropolitan teachers can hold their substantive, metropolitan position for three years, while working in a nominated regional school. Following this appointment, they can elect to transfer permanently to the regional school, or return to their substantive position in the metro area

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
