The Role
The successful applicant will play a vital role in ensuring that the library is running smoothly and providing excellent reference, information, and associated services to students, staff, and parents. You will have the opportunity to supervise the day-to-day operations of the library, and maintain and processing library resources, making them easily accessible to all. You would conduct library skills training, helping students and staff to make the most of the resources available to them. Additionally, the Library Officer assists with selecting program and age-appropriate materials, ensuring that the library has the resources needed to support the curriculum and the needs of the students and staff.
In addition to these responsibilities, you would also be responsible for preparing and monitoring the library budget, making recommendations for new resources, and coordinating library visits. You may be required to supervise small groups of students outside lesson time in activities relating to the library.
The ability to assist in the accessioning and management of the school Information Technology (IT) resources would be an asset. Ideally, you will be able to maintain the school’s online presence, including the creation and updating of the school website and other online programs.
