The Role
Canning Vale College is looking to appoint 2 highly competent and dedicated English teachers.
The successful applicant should have a deep belief that every student is capable of successful learning and exhibit highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. Canning Vale College staff are committed to personal and professional growth and embrace opportunities to create environments conducive to learning that are fun, purposeful, relevant, and cater for differing student learning needs.
An excellent knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner are also desirable qualities. The ability to teach any of the following courses will be an advantage:
- Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English
- General English
- Lower school English
The successful applicant will ideally be able to display how they will provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. In addition, the ability to engage students using a range of skills, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices will be considered favourably.
The ability and initiative to work well with your colleagues as part of a team to develop teaching strategies, resources and approaches to ensure each student can reach their maximum potential should be addressed in your application.
A strong record of working in constructive collaboration with a variety of school teams will be a distinct advantage.
