We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs – Education Assistants (EASN) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Eglinton Beach Primary School (PS) will open its doors to the community of Eglinton at the commencement of 2025. We have a vision to create an inclusive school where every child can succeed. We are seeking to establish a pool of EASN staff who are motivated to support students with a range of abilities to grow and achieve. Eglinton Beach PS will be the first school opening in the suburb of Eglinton, catering for children from Kindergarten to Year Six with an Endorsed Education Support program on site.
The school is located on a large site on Cerulean Drive, backing onto Heath Park. The school will have state-of-the-art facilities with a purpose-built Early Childhood, two double story teaching blocks a dedicated Education Support facility, library and undercover area. Specialist teaching areas for Music/Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Science/STEM will also be included. The already established oval will support an excellent Physical Education program.

The Role
As a EASN, with teacher direction you will, assist in the delivery of education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. EASN’s support students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, social, emotional, and physical skills including the operation of computers and digital technologies. Applicants should ideally have a high level of interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with staff members to meet the needs of students.
Suitable applicants will have the opportunity to assist in the implementation of specialised education programs and maintain a supportive, inclusive environment to meet the specific needs of students. Suitable applicants should display a commitment to working collaboratively and building positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. Applicants should be motivated to assist students to grow through the development of their academic achievement, social and communicative skills, and engage in positive behaviour support. As a suitable applicant you will ideally be able to use a preventative and restorative approach to build positive, trusting relationships with students.
Experience with supporting students with disabilities is highly advantageous, with EASN staff working across the campus, including the Endorsed Education Support Program. Ability to implement Individual Education plans, Behaviour Support Plans, and support students daily living requirements is a key part of this role. Experience in supporting students with a range of high and low-tech Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) is preferred. As a suitable applicant, you should be able to provide feedback on education and therapy programs when required, participating in evaluating the achievement of individual education goals.

- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
