At Henley Brook Primary School (PS), our vision is to build a connected school within a connected community; a school where students connect, belong, and thrive. The school is the first school in Henley Brook and opened its doors to students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in January 2024 catering to both Henley Brook and Brabham families. School staff work in close partnership with community members to strive for excellence, where student success and wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do. Together we work to provide a foundation for every child to feel that sense of connection and belonging and build a school where each of our students will thrive.
As a new school our gardens have been maintained by the contracted landscaper. For 2025, this is handed over to the school and as such, we are looking for someone with a green thumb and who can maintain the beautiful gardens and grounds of the school.

The Role
The Gardener - Handyperson is responsible for maintaining the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a conducive external learning environment for students and staff. This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies. The Gardener - Handyperson is also tasked with keeping gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices.
Collaborating with the Manager of Corporate Services, the role contributes to the development of safe work procedures and conducts risk assessments as needed. Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation and the management of hazardous substances are integral aspects of the role, including the maintenance of records in accordance with safety guidelines.
The Gardener - Handyperson plays a crucial role in ensuring the school's outdoor spaces are well-maintained and conducive to a positive learning environment.
