Greenmount Primary School is seeking an innovative leader to join their team as Associate Principal to engage collaboratively with students, staff and the community.
There is a possibility of increasing FTE to 0.6FTE for the successful applicant.
Staff work together to engage 386 Kindergarten to Year 6 students in a safe and caring learning environment that is inclusive, collaborative, and respectful. We employ Quality Teaching Strategies to impact on student achievement and progress and to ensure that every student achieves success. 10% of our school population is Aboriginal. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and partner with families, communities, and agencies to support the engagement of every student is highly regarded for this role.

The Role
This role ideally requires the applicant to work collaboratively with the Executive and Leadership Teams to make strategic decisions around the implementation of evidence-based strategies and programs, such as Visible Learning, Letters and Sounds, Seven Steps for Writing, Talk 4 Writing, Spelling Mastery, Paul Swan Maths, and Classroom Management and Instructional Strategies. Data literacy, knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies and the ability to support teaching staff in the implementation of these strategies is advantageous. Ideally, an inclusive approach is needed to cater for the needs of all staff at every stage on the professional continuum, graduates to lead teachers. The ability to facilitate high level professional conversations around improvement cycles in Professional Learning Communities is highly regarded.
The successful applicant should promote positive relationships between students, staff, parents and the wider community and possess high level organisation and communication skills. The successful applicant should have the skills to lead teaching and learning at a whole staff level, and at a Professional Learning Community (PLC) level. The role will includes presenting Professional Learning to teachers and providing individualised support at point of need. The applicant will ideally have experience in facilitating Plan-Teach-Assess cycles to address the priorities of the School Community Plan. The applicant will ideally support data literacy and interrogate data to inform whole school improvement plans and Action Learning Cycles.
