The Role
Medina PS is seeking an exceptional Mainstream Education Assistant to support literacy and numeracy in our school.
At Medina PS we are placing a priority on improving student achievement and progress in literacy and numeracy. We are seeking an education assistant, ideally with experience across all year levels from Kindergarten to Year 6. Your primary role will be working in our kindergarten class under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher, to provide additional support. As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will ideally be responsible for assisting in the delivery of planned education programs, including managing small groups of students under the direction of the teacher that will help in the development of young students in relation to their literacy and numeracy skills, and support their general health and wellbeing. The successful applicant will ideally have knowledge around Letters and Sounds, and Heggerty programs. You will ideally work well in collaboration with the classroom teacher.
