We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants will have a passion for working with students and have highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills. You will ideally be committed to achieving the best educational outcomes for our students through collaborating with others to support and enhance teaching and learning. You may be working across a range of classrooms therefore the ability to be flexible will be an advantage, especially as the school grows.
We seek Education Assistants who are committed to maximising their impact on student learning and who work well within a team environment. Our staff have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn and be successful. Experience in supporting middle and upper primary aged students with complex challenges will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants should show initiative in adapting tasks to meet specific student needs and under teacher direction, contribute to the planning and delivery of programs relevant to students with high needs including (but not limited to) Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities and/or other physical disabilities. An ability to work with students in out-of-class activities, during breaks in the school day, and on school excursions is required.
The ability to establish genuine, positive, and caring relationships with our students and families is highly regarded. - Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
