At Kelmscott SHS, Education Assistants play an integral role in supporting the learning success of our students. Kelmscott SHS is a host school for the Specialised Learning Program: Autism (SLP-A). The Program provides students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who are capable of achieving success in a mainstream setting, with specialised support and intervention. The Program assists students to develop academic engagement and achievement, organisational skills, social cognition development, positive peer relationships, and emotional self-regulation. Education Assistants at Kelmscott SHS support the operation of the SLP-A while students are in their mainstream classes. Suitable applicants may work across contexts including mainstream classes, learning support, and the SLP-A. Ideally, you will possess knowledge of effective strategies to support students in different environments and be responsive to changing student needs.
