The Role
Shorehaven PS is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher who would like to teach Technologies at our school. This will be a specialist position, providing Duties Other Than Teaching (DOTT) across our primary years. Our specialist team have played an integral role in helping develop a positive whole school culture and as such, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate or provide a vision of how their teaching will contribute to this culture.
Shorehaven PS is located at the northern tip of Alkimos and continues to have rapid growth in student numbers from the surrounding estates of Shorehaven, Amberton and Alkimos Vista. Our school has an amazing level of support from the local community and the applicant will ideally possess the skills required to build and then maintain productive relationships with all members of the school community.
As the foundation Technologies teacher, the successful applicant will consult with admin in the purchase of resources enabling the delivery of an engaging curriculum. Applicants should be able to provide examples of outstanding pedagogy and knowledge of contemporary practices which are applicable to the teaching of technologies.
Shorehaven PS uses a whole-school positive behaviour approach as a base for its code of conduct. Whilst knowledge of the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model is not essential, strong behaviour management skills will be highly regarded given the diversity of year levels. Equally important will be applicant’s ability to use Information Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance learning and engage students in Technologies.
