We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Mainstream for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Oakwood Primary School (PS) opened for Pre-Primary and Kindergarten students in 2018 and extended from Kindergarten to Year 6 in 2019 in purpose built, modern facilities. Enrolments have increased rapidly in the last four years and the school will have over 900 students in 2025. The school services the suburbs of Meadow Springs, Madora Bay and San Remo and is an Independent Public School. Suitable applicants, under teacher direction, assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs, including the operation of computers and other IT devices; and, under teacher direction, implement individual or small group programs or demonstrations. They will ideally assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials, and resources, for use in classes, displays and demonstration, and assisting the teacher with clean and safe storage of items after classes and activities. For this role you should be organised and should be able to use your initiative. These skills will also be utilised to aid teachers by assisting with the general care and well-being of students.
We are a Positive Behaviour Support School and believe that expected behaviours need to be explicitly taught and positively reinforced.
