This is a ten (10) month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP with possible extension and/or permanency
The Infrastructure Strategy and Planning Directorate is responsible for the development of strategic asset plans, policies and processes within an asset planning framework, long term land planning for schools and the management of the Department’s land estate. The Directorate also provides statistical and demographic planning services and property management.
The Role
The Infrastructure Strategy and Planning Directorate is looking to recruit a skilled and committed Demographic Consultant to join their team in the Strategic Infrastructure Planning branch.
The Demographics Consultant will research, collate, analyse and maintain a range of public and school related demographic data in order to provide analysis and recommendations to the Department.
The successful applicant will establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide and present demographic data to support school site planning for new schools and the establishment, relief, amalgamation and closure of schools in a timely and effective manner.

- Demonstrated well developed skills and experience in achieving outcomes and delivering quality products and services consistent with Department and school needs and defined quality expectations, including timeliness.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills to undertake consultation, collaboration, negotiation and build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders on commercial contracting issues.
- Demonstrated well developed written communication skills, including experience in contributing to reports, briefing papers and responses to Senior Executive and/or Ministerial/Parliamentary requests.
- Demonstrated well developed analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
