The Role
Darlington PS is a highly academic environment where students enjoy school and the stability this offers. Our staff work collaboratively with the school’s leadership team, and the community to ensure progress and positive outcomes for all students. As a Deputy Principal, you should contribute to the leadership of our school culture and promote learning that is supported by a deep belief that every student is capable of success.
You should have the capacity and resilience to develop others while working collaboratively to ensure whole school initiatives and Business Plan targets are achieved. These initiatives include improving literacy and numeracy outcomes, effective data analysis, curriculum differentiation, sustainability, STEAM, teacher self-reflection, parental engagement and ongoing implementation of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards. The school has embedded Talk for Writing as a centrepiece of the Literacy program.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have highly developed knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum in addition to knowledge of current research and evidence-based practices. A capacity to lead the Early Learning team would be desirable.
This role requires a high level of interpersonal skills and ability to build close and lasting relationships with our school community. Approximately 0.4 FTE of this role includes classroom teaching.
