The Role
Baldivis SC is seeking to appoint an innovative and experienced Coordinator - Student Services to join our dynamic Student Services team that is focused on creating a positive learning environment with student wellbeing and engagement as a priority.
This role focuses on student wellbeing through the lens of student engagement; attendance; positive mental and physical health; and coordinating and/or delivering preventative programs addressing identified areas of concern. A deep understanding of the role of student services would be highly desirable in order to collaborate with the executive team to set strategic directions.
The successful applicant will support staff and students in the Year 7 and 8 cohorts, working closely with the Year 7 and 8 Coordinator in building a positive school culture for students, staff and parents within which Year 7 and 8 students can thrive. You will be supported by the Year 7 and 8 Student Services Manager as well as a school psychologist, nurse, chaplain, defence transition mentor, Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer and student support officers, and other support staff.
As a confident and committed team player, the successful applicant should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain the enthusiasm and commitment of the staff and students in their team. They should be able to make a strong contribution to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team by acting with integrity and contributing to the development of a calm, productive atmosphere and a culture where everyone feels valued.
You will ideally understand how to implement strong and sophisticated restorative practices, support staff to implement agreed processes and procedures, as well as implementing whole school positive approaches to student engagement and wellbeing. Ideally, the successful applicant should have capacity in complex case management, interagency collaboration, zones of regulation, tiers of intervention and positive behaviour support programs.
