The Statewide Services division provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most.
As a manger, within the Service Design and Support directorate, you will inform and contribute to the directorate’s purpose of providing strategy, policy and program oversight and operational support to the division.
The Role
The Service Design and Support Directorate is seeking an experienced and highlighted motivated manager to lead the System Services and Responses branch within Statewide Services.
The System Services and Responses Branch, within the Service Design and Support Directorate aims to provide a single point of entry within Statewide Services for system-facing requests including:
- strategic policy input
- response to ministerial requests etc
- developing and managing processes to deliver effective, timely responses to the system.
The role includes the leadership and capacity building of staff who play an important part in providing collective system services and supports across Statewide Services. Branch functions include Padbury facilities management, implementation of the Professional Learning Information System (PLIS), support for Statewide Services Ikon communication, establishment of systems and processes for Statewide Services system requests, and the preparation of a range of responses across different topics.
Support provided by the System Services and Support branch needs to be responsive to emerging priorities. As Manager, you will lead and support staff in the preparation, completion and monitoring of a wide range of functions and seek relevant expertise from across the division where required.
As such, this role requires the Manager to be agile, solution focussed to leverage resources to maximise efficiencies and have a comprehensive understanding of system and ministerial processes. Strong communication skills, written or oral, monitoring and organisational skills will be key to the success of the role.
The Manager will
- lead the on-going refinement and implementation of streamlined processes to ensure provision of high-quality responses and advice is provided from Statewide Services
- work closely with the office of the Executive Director, Statewide Services to establish processes that provide timely responses for senior leaders while ensuring clear communication to support staff is enacted
- review and identify efficiencies in practices and processes resulting in:
- schools using an efficient system to access professional learning quality service
- facilities management
- rigorous budgetary practices
- lead and develop System Services and Support staff in building productive relationships across the division and the wider Department
- develop strong collaborative relationships with the leadership team members at Statewide Services to support all Statewide Services staff.
To be successful in this role you will be a strategic thinker with a proven ability to achieve results and a commitment to establish and improve service delivery and support for system requests.
As an effective change agent, you will lead the operations of the System Services and Responses branch in accordance with the Department’s strategic directions, policies and relevant legislation.
