We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant- Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Yarralinka Primary School is located in the growing community of Southern River and currently caters from Kindergarten- Year 6. The Role
As an Education Assistant- Special Needs, you will, under teacher direction, assist with the implementation and delivery of specialised education programs. You will also assist with implementing individual student or small group programs/demonstrations. Additionally, you may also be required to provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education.
We seek Education Assistants- Special Needs with a passion for working with students and are committed to maximising their impact on student learning. Suitable applicants would have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn and be successful in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. As a valued staff member at our school, you will embrace evidence-based strategies in place across the school to meet the needs of students. Experience in synthetic phonics, MultiLit/ MiniLit, working with students with learning needs/ disabilities and social and emotional learning will be highly regarded. You value the whole child, acknowledging that academic, social, emotional, creative and physical dimensions are vital.
We seek enthusiastic team members who show initiative in adapting tasks to meet student needs. You will contribute advice and expertise; collaborating with staff to support student achievement. Suitable applicants should actively engage in self-reflection. Under teacher direction, you assist in the implementation of education programs. An ability to work with students in out-of-class activities, during breaks in the school day, and on school excursions is required.
Suitable applicants should display good organisational skills and the ability to provide feedback on student progress to teaching professionals. You will be responsible for assisting teachers with the supervision of students for all activities and the general health and wellbeing of students, including attending to minor illnesses and/or injuries.

- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students
