The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you should contribute to the delivery of planned educational programs, engaging our students in a supportive and inclusive holistic learning environment. In this role you should collaborate and work in a strong team-based environment, contributing your knowledge and expertise in Trauma Informed Practice, to support individual educational outcomes.
You will ideally be extremely motivated, and possess highly developed written and oral communication skills, to support individual or small group-based programs. Just as importantly, you will ideally display a high level of EQ to support the overall health and social and emotional well-being of our students, striving to provide a safe learning environment, reflecting our Positive Behaviour Support framework.
Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills and build strong, positive relationships with parents/carers, students, and staff. As current finalists in two 2024 Western Australia Education Awards categories (Excellence in Wellbeing and Learning & Excellence in School Leadership), staff culture is of utmost importance and suitable applicants should display their capacity to add to the culture of our school community.

- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
