The Role
As a Library Officer you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library, provision of reference information and maintaining the environment and associated services of the school library to support the learning outcomes of students. As part of the role, you will prepare and monitor the library budget and make recommendations for new library resources. The Library Officer also administers the library systems ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are maintained and processed so they are always accessible and available to students and staff.
The library lies at the heart of the school. It is important that it is vibrant, engaging, and welcoming. The successful applicant should be able to work within the library space to create an environment that encourages students into the library and actively engages them with displays and events.
The successful applicant should display strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment. Ideally, you will possess strong computer skills across a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spread sheets and word processing. The school uses the Oliver library system so experience with this system or an openness to learn is essential.
