The Role
The successful applicant should be able to create a learning environment that is differentiated, challenging, caring, and caters for the range of needs so all students may achieve and progress. As a Quality Teaching Strategy Lead School, successful candidates would be expected to be familiar with the Teaching For Impact framework and have an understanding of what effective teachers believe, know, and do to enable students to succeed.
The successful applicant will ideally have the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding to prepare students for NAPLAN and OLNA. They must also have the capacity to deliver senior schooling courses across the range of Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), General and Foundation offerings within the Mathematics domain. There should be an active interest in student achievement, best pedagogy and improving Mathematics results across the school.
You will ideally support the implementation of the school business plan, work and teach in a team environment, and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives. The successful applicant must be able to build and maintain a positive learning environment therefore effective classroom management is critical to this role. All teachers appointed to Girrawheen SHS apply the principles of the school’s explicit model of instruction in their work.
