The Role
The successful applicant will ideally be passionate, motivated and a skilled educator who is committed to improving Physical and Health Education outcomes for every child, every day. They will have a sound knowledge of the WA Curriculum and have capacity to apply this knowledge to plan and deliver challenging and engaging programs from early years to senior primary, using combination of explicit teaching and other instructional strategies.
We are seeking applicants who are innovative and flexible. Ideally, you will possess excellent communication skills that support you to build respectful positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. You will also be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be a collegial, effective collaborator.
In particular, this specialist role requires high level organisation skills in scheduling, planning and coordinating whole school sporting events. This includes annual Athletics and Swimming Carnivals, interschool sports, sporting clinics, swimming lessons and other school programs, activities and excursions. You may also be required to make grant applications to support learning outcomes in Physical Education and Health. As this position may include classroom teaching, applicants are encouraged to include some reference to general classroom experience in their application.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
