The Role
Applecross Senior High School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Home Economics and Hospitality teacher who is proactive, passionate, and able to collaborate effectively within a team. The ideal applicant should have high expectations, a strong commitment to excellence, and use diverse teaching methods to create and maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment. Applicants who display flexibility and adaptability, particularly in applying differentiated instruction and explicit teaching strategies will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally have strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively promote the school’s values and priorities. Building positive relationships with students is a key focus, along with a passion for shaping student futures. The role requires a performance-driven, evidence-based approach to decision-making.
The position includes teaching Home Economics subjects from Years 8 to 12, and with responsibility for delivering Certificate II in Hospitality. Suitable applicants must either hold a Certificate II in Hospitality or demonstrate current industry experience. Additionally, candidates must hold the Certificate IV in TAE Assessor Skill Set or Vocational Education and Training (VET) Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set to be able to train and assess in any VET context independently.
