Workforce Supply, Mobility and Reform (WSMR) are seeking to establish a pool of Senior Project Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the remainder of 2024, and up to the end of 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Who we are
Workforce Supply, Mobility and Reform is responsible for promoting the Department of Education as the employer of choice to local, interstate and international teachers.
We represent the Department at expos, in universities, and deliver online events and webinars. We also work with the Communications team to create and maintain the Department of Education career website, and promotional material related to the work we do.
A number of key Workforce functions are currently managed within our team including:
- Promotion of the Department as an Employer of Choice with a diversity of careers in Education;
- The Leap program to retrain teachers into specialised areas of need;
- The international and interstate recruitment of high quality teachers; and
- The Teach in WA customer service centre, providing information to prospective and current Department teachers in many areas of inquiry, including employment eligibility requirements, recognition of prior service, and teacher qualification assessments.

Our team of Senior Project Officers manage a range of programs and projects that strive to attract and retain high quality staff in the WA public education system.
You will be successful in this role if you:
- are self-motivated and adaptable, being able to work effectively both in isolation and as part of a team;
- have exceptional skills in building and maintaining effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders;
- are strong at presenting both in person and online;
- have great organisational and project management skills; and
- can understand the nuance of delivering services to different audiences and managing competing needs.
