This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension.
Leeming Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Head of Learning Area (HOLA) – Health and physical Education to provide exemplary curriculum and whole school leadership to maximise student outcomes.
The successful applicant will ideally have a proven ability to provide purposeful and focused high quality leadership in teaching and learning as well as change management practices that build the capacity of the HPE team. The successful applicant will ideally maintain drive for improvement against the business plan targets and initiatives including the collaborative development and implementation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificate Courses.

The Role
The HOLA provides high quality leadership to staff within the Health and Physical Education learning area to develop innovative curriculum and practice to achieve strong student outcomes and is accountable for the effective management of the learning area.
The successful applicant is a member of the school’s leadership team and, as such, provides educational leadership in the school and the community by assisting the principal and members of the administrative team in developing and promoting the school vision and encouraging staff and community members to share ownership of the school’s vision and goals.
The successful applicant should be able to incorporate strong innovation and change management practices that build the capacity of others. The HOLA facilitates teaching and learning outcomes through effective performance management, modelling, and promoting a culture of improvement and manage the school buses.
