Staff Recruitment and Employment Services (SRES) Directorate is establishing a pool of Administration Assistants for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements between now and the end of 2025.

Who we are
SRES is a team of 120 people working across 5 branches supporting principals, line managers and staff in schools, central and regional offices to:
- plan and manage their budgets and workforce needs,
- promote employment opportunities across WA,
- attract and recruit the best people for their vacancies, and
- relocate and house people working in regional and remote locations.
Who we’re looking for
Self-motivated and adaptable individuals who can work in isolation and as part of a team.
Suitable applicants will primarily be working in one of our 5 branches but there may be periods of time where you will be working with multiple teams.
You’ll have responsibility for purchasing and reconciliation, coordinating travel arrangements, preparing and maintaining reports and records, managing written correspondence, visitor enquiries and other administrative tasks.
Application process
This process has three stages.
- Stage 1 – applicants must submit a CV that includes evidence of finance management (purchasing and reconciliations) and coordination of travel bookings (flights and accommodation) as part of their work history.
- Stage 2 – applicants found suitable in Stage 1 will be invited to attend our office to complete a short practical assessment (30 to 60 minutes).
- Stage 3 – applicants who complete the practical assessment to a high standard may be invited for interview, if required.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
