We are seeking to establish a pool of Library Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Eglinton Beach Primary School will be opening its doors to the local community in February 2025. It will be the first school opening in the suburb of Eglinton and will be an inclusive school catering for children from Kindergarten to Year Six with an integrated Education Support program for students with disabilities.
The school will cater for the growing community in the Northern Coastal Suburb and will focus on providing a welcoming, caring environment where each child’s individual needs are catered for. We have worked closely with the local community in creating the vision for the school. We will establish strong relationships with families and community to ensure the school is well placed to provide a genuine partnership to support every child’s school journey. The Role
As a Library Officer you will be responsible for the establishment and then day-to-day operations of the library, provision of reference information and maintaining the environment and associated services of the school library to support the learning outcomes of students. The Library Officer also administers the library systems ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are maintained and processed so they are always accessible and available to students and staff.
Library Officer’s should have outstanding interpersonal skills to provide library support to our school community, our leadership team, and staff. You should work in partnership with staff to create a welcoming and vibrant library environment for students and families and make the library an inviting hub of the school. A love of books and a sound understanding of library systems, processes and stocktakes is highly desirable and knowledge of the library management system Oliver would also be highly desirable. Ability to manage ICT resources through the Jampf management system would be an advantage.
The Library Officer is responsible for assisting students, parents, and staff to select program and age-appropriate materials. They assist with the stocktaking and monitoring of the library budget and contributing to making recommendations for new library resources.
