The Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the school’s grounds, including turf, gardens, and hard landscaping, to ensure a safe and tidy environment for students and staff. This includes managing turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, and trees, as well as marking sports areas and maintaining courts and paved surfaces. We have worked extensively on upgrading our school grounds and need an applicant with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
The role involves performing minor repairs, assisting in classroom movement and furniture ordering, ensuring equipment and machinery are kept in serviceable condition, and adhering to safe work practices, including managing hazardous substances in line with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation. You will also assist with risk assessments and the development of safety procedures.
In addition to maintaining the grounds and facilities, the Gardener - Handyperson will arm and disarm security systems when required and work closely with the administration team, providing advice and support on grounds maintenance matters. Strong communication and collaborative skills are essential to foster effective relationships with the school community.
