This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025
At Eaton Community College (CC) we are working hard to become one of the leading secondary schools in the Bunbury area. We are dedicated to selecting specialist staff with strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and the wider school community. Eaton CC is an Independent Public School (IPS) that offers a wonderful opportunity for local students to access a high-quality secondary education close to home. Eaton is a rapidly growing suburb located less than 10kms from Bunbury.
At Eaton CC we focus on explicit instruction and targeted intervention strategies to ensure every student achieves. Our College staff have a key role in school planning processes including: the analysis of student performance data, development of performance and improvement plans, and application of an evidence-based approach to student performance. As a result, our teachers foster a safe and accountable learning environment that encourages students to further develop higher order thinking skills.
We are supported by an internal specialist literacy and numeracy program with a focus on developing students core reading and numeracy skills. In addition, we have an Education Department endorsed Specialised Autism Learning Program (SALP) for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This program is embedded across all learning areas. Our specialist staff work with classroom teachers to effectively differentiate learning activities and prioritise individual learning needs. At Eaton CC we genuinely care about our students and as a result work hard to provide wrap around support. Our student services team provides extensive social and emotional care to allow each student to confidently embrace every learning opportunity.

The Role
The SALP is an integrated program and as such we are seeking a dedicated, highly motivated teacher who will actively contribute to our college culture and should be relationship focused and dedicated to creating a safe and caring environment in which ASD students can thrive within their existing mainstream secondary school setting. Ideally, the successful applicant will have outstanding communication and leadership skills within the classroom and the ability to work with a range of teaching and non-teaching staff across the college.
In collaboration with the Program Coordinator - SALP, the successful applicant will provide innovative and engaging classes for our students and contribute to their sense of belonging and overall wellbeing in mainstream classrooms. Teachers of this program will develop highly personalised learning plans to facilitate access to age-appropriate curriculum. They will apply evidence-based individualised education interventions to improve academic engagement, organisational skills, social thinking, peer relationships and self-regulation skills.
