We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officer for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during Term 4 2024 and the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Mount Hawthorn Education Support Centre (ESC) is a public school for children with special needs with a strong emphasis on reaching for independence. The Role
As the first point of contact for our school, the school officer is responsible for building positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, staff and the wider community. Using their strong interpersonal skills, suitable applicants should possess excellence in customer service delivery and be passionate about providing effective clerical support, with an eye for detail while being able to work independently. They will be responsible for meeting and greeting visitors, answering the telephone, and responding to routine enquiries. Suitable applicants will also assist with general administrative duties, such as the preparation of correspondence, maintaining student records and faults management. Attention to detail and the flexibility to work in various roles are highly desirable qualities.
Suitable applicants will be required to meet deadlines and work well within a team environment. They will ideally use their excellent oral and written communication skills to perform a variety of student-related activities, including general data entry, enrolment processes, publication generation, receipting of contributions/charges and possess a good understanding of excel and word processing. They should have a strong customer service focus that is welcoming and professional and have the ability to provide effective clerical and administrative support.
Suitable applicants will also assist with the maintenance of school facilities, assets and resources, maintain and order office supplies, distribute and collect documents, forms and mail, and collect and receipt monies in accordance with Departmental procedures. In addition, applicants with experience working with iPads with tasks which include deployment of apps through our Mobile Device Management software and basic support for students with iPads would be also desirable.
