Narrogin Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated, student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences. We are seeking professionals who will utilise evidence based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods. Suitable applicants should have real care and consideration for students and demonstrate highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. With effective interpersonal skills, applicants will work closely with students, teachers, and the community to instil rigour, resilience, and pride, allowing students to achieve to their full potential.
Applicants with the knowledge and skills to utilise data such as Progressive Achievement Testing (PAT), National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) to target individual students and address student needs will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will ideally reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their very best. Applicants with outstanding knowledge of English curriculum would be highly regarded. We are looking for applicants who are flexible and adaptive and able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. Suitable applicants will ideally be able to deliver a curriculum which is not only engaging but is relevant and meaningful to students. You will ideally have the capacity to engage with all students, irrespective of their academic standing, be highly collaborative in working with colleagues and actively committed to your own ongoing professional growth and development. In addition, the successful applicant will ideally have real care and consideration for students with an ability to build positive relationships.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
