Gairdner Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School located 145kms east of Albany. Our small school is integral to the thriving rural community of Gairdner and has strong links with the neighbouring towns of Jerramungup, Bremer Bay, Borden, Ongerup and Wellstead.

The Role
We are actively seeking primary teachers with exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. In a very small multi-age group setting you would promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, setting high expectations and cultivating a growth mindset while nurturing students' social and emotional development.
Experience with Sounds-Write or other phonics programs and a hands-on approach to teaching numeracy will be essential. Ideally, you will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong motivation to excel and a commitment to delivering best practices. The capacity to excel in an environment characterized by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth is highly valued.
As a member of our team, you would leverage high-impact teaching strategies and showcase experience in designing and delivering engaging literacy and numeracy programs. An understanding of differentiation to meet diverse student needs is also highly valued, along with proficiency in utilizing various assessment tools to inform progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide future classroom planning.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
